Middle School Transition
Making the leap from elementary to middle school is the most challenging — and critical – transition in K – 12 education due to environmental, emotional and psychological changes. We help ease the way.
For the new student, everything about Middle School seems different: right down to the use of combination locks to safeguard books and belongings. United Way’s Middle School Transition program is designed to de-mystify Middle School for participants and take some of the anxiety out of the transition. We help students with everything from mastering the Master Lock, to meeting the administrators, coaches and principal, to learning the landscape and dispelling the urban legends.
The margin between early success or failure in Middle School can come down to something as simple as navigating the halls or getting a locker open. We’re removing roadblocks and helping students navigate their way to a better Middle School experience.
